Honeypots: Wasting attackers’ time¶
A honeypot is a trap, plain and simple. It’s a decoy system, application, or service designed to lure attackers away from real assets—while quietly recording their every move.
Think of it as the digital equivalent of leaving a wallet full of monopoly money in a pickpocket hotspot, rigged with a GPS tracker and a smug little note inside: “Gotcha.”
The only place where ‘getting hacked’ counts as a win.
